Opening of The Corsini Collection at the Auckland Art Gallery

The Corsini Collection: A Window on Renaissance Florence was opened on Saturday 2 September at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki Drawn by The GovernorGeneral of New Zealand, Her Excellency The Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy.

Other special guests included two members of the the Corsini family, Contessa Elisabetta Minutoli Tegrimi and Contessa Livia Sanminiatelli Branca, and the Italian ambassador to New Zealand, H.E. Fabrizio Marcelli.

Renaissance and Baroque paintings by renowned artists such as Botticelli, Caravaggio, Andrea del Sarto, Pontormo and Tintoretto.Paintings, as well as sculpture, works on paper, furniture, costumes, and a lavish dining room set for six, which have been preserved over the centuries, will portray the life of this family at the Palazzo Corsini.
