Festival Italiano 2018: programme

Cari amici, music and entrainment are back on stage!

Two locations for enjoying all Italian music, Osborne lane and inside the Rialto Centre plus lots of incredible Italian giveaways.

Osborne Lane:

Paolo Rotondo, director of the Cinema Italiano Festival will open the Festival at 11am! Soon after the Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra will take the stage with a special repertoire of Italian music followed by the incredible voice of Tenor Cameron Caseywho will delight us with some of the most loved opera arias like O Sole Mio, Mattinata, Funiculì Funiculà.

Official speeches with the Italian Ambassador and the local representatives will take place at 12.30pm.

Italian Jazz Band Napoli Central will jam through the afternoon, and we will have

Quiz times all throughout the day with spot prizes and competitions sponsored by Giapo, Il Casaro, Settebello, Maserati and Effetto Brama.

Italian music will fill the air thanks to the playlist of Anirvan Deva DJ.Originally from Italy, Anirvan has raised the vibration at many festivals worldwide.

Rialto Centre

Kim Santarellidance crew will open the Festival with the much-loved Tarantella at 11am.

At 12.30pm we will celebrate the arrival of the Roman Legion marching through the Rialto into the Festival.

If you missed the Mandolins performance, they will play again inside the Rialto Centre around 1pm, followed by the lovely music of Tracey Collins accordion.

At 2.30pm all gardeners are invited to come along for a fantastic giveaway of Italian seeds by Franchi Sementi and soon after all foodies and chefs for another incredible prize, a precious bottle of Aceto Balsamico di Modena Extravecchio, by Acetodownunder,  and a jar of Manetti Edible Gold Crumbs!

Grand Finale: join us for the draw of the Dante Alighieri annual raffle on stage at 4.00pm!

Tickets are sold all day long at the Dante’s stall and by our volunteers around the festival.
